5 Reasons You Don't Feel Great in Your Home

1/22/2017

Your home is much more than just a place for you to hang your hat at the end of the day.   It’s a place that should be restful, and revitalizing.   If it’s not, you can easily make some changes.

Start by answering these questions...
  • How does your home generally make you feel?
  • Do you enjoy time in your home by yourself and also with others?
  • Is there is a specific room in your home that you don’t enjoy?

Here are  my 5 Top Reasons You Don't Feel Great in Your Home:
  1. Clutter – No one really enjoys clearing clutter, but it is vital to your health.  I compare clutter clearing to being as vital as exercise, eating vegetables and getting enough sleep.  An excess of clutter can cause you to feel frustrated, depressed, agitated and more.
  2. Lighting – Lighting can really make or break a space.  By adding a cozy warm glow to a room you may be making it the ultimate in comfort.  By brightening a work-space you may find you get more done in a day. Does the lighting in your space resonate with the tasks to be completed?
  3. Stagnant Air – In the winter months our homes can easily have stagnant air.  Opening a few windows to let in even a couple minutes of fresh air can make a huge difference.  Not only will it smell fresh but it the space will have a fresh, clean feeling to it.  Your entire body will feel it!
  4. Unhealthy Food – It is important to ensure you have plenty of fresh and healthy food in your home.  You can’t very well nourish your body on cookies and ice cream so ensure you have plenty of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables on hand.  Keep them in your sight lines too, this ensure you always opt for the healthy option.
  5. Cleaning Products – Did you know that one of the best cleaning products you could have on hand is a good ‘ole bottle of white vinegar?  No need to buy those cleaning products filled with dangerous chemicals.  By using healthy cleaning products you’re sure to have a space that promotes a positive feeling.

If you’re guilty of one (or several) of the above, no worries.  Just commit to creating a plan to keep your space light and fresh throughout the year.  Check back in with this guide to ensure you’re taking these 5 basic steps. Encourage your family to follow suit and you’ll all begin connecting with your space on a deeper level, thus, providing you with a space that encourages rest and revitalization.
