Do you Hygge?

Picture
Do you just revel in those moments of time when you can curl up with a cozy blanket, a cup of tea and enjoy some quiet time?

Then you may already be a fan of Hygge.  Hygge is a Danish word that loosely translates to cozy living.  It’s actually pronounced “hoo-ga” and has been popular in the US for the past few years.  Of course, most popular in winter months when we’re all craving that warm snuggly feeling.

Here are some tips for creating Hygge in your home
  1. Unplug – Turn off all devices and enjoy the peace and quiet
  2. Light Candles – Yes, turn out the lights and enjoy the beautiful dancing flame of a candle
  3. Blankets – Curl up with cozy, chunky blankets
  4. Snuggly Outfit – Throw on your most cuddly top, pants and of course super soft socks
  5. Hot Cocoa  or Tea – Enjoy a cup in your favorite mug
  6. Eat – Savor something fresh out of the oven
  7. Journal – Write or doodle your thoughts
  8. Curl Up – Curl up with that favorite person or pet and enjoy every second

Try to add even one of these items to your daily routine, or better yet, set an entire weekend aside for Hygge!
