Feng Shui Your Creative Spaces

Picture

Do you have a space dedicated to your creativity?  Maybe it’s a studio space for painting or pottery or possibly a room where you enjoy writing or playing music.  If you love being creative, ensure your space is encouraging those creative juices to flow!

First, take a few minutes and just sit in a quiet space.  Think about the following:
If you had your very own magical, inspiring & creative space, what would it look like?
How would it feel?

What would be in the space?

Next, consider these steps to make your very own magical, creative studio or office:

Decorate with Inspiring Images – Who or what inspires you?  Hang a picture of this item or person on the wall.  Whether is an original piece of art by your favorite artist or a picture of someone who encourages your creativity, add these to your space through images.

Add the Water Element – The water element of Feng Shui encourages free flowing thoughts and ideas.  Add images of water to your space such as a beautiful photo of a lake or stream.

Accent in Blue – In addition to the water element, simply decorating in blue tones is great for your creative space.  Shades of this hue are known to enhance your creativity and inspiration.  Let the creativity flow!

Add the Earth Element – Sometimes when I am working on a creative project, I get a bit scatter brained and find I struggle to stay grounded and focused.  Adding a bit of an earth element (beige, tan, brown colors) really help.

Play Great Music – I recently attended a workshop where we were writing with different types of music playing in the background.  The teacher played everything from classical to show tunes.  Experiment with different music styles in your space and see what encourages your creativity.

Now that you've studied your creative space and considered some tweaks...I'd love to hear what you're creating!
