New Years Resolutions Can Take A Back Seat

Picture
I am a lover of planning and organizing and every year at this time I work hard to get all my resolutions in order.  My typical strategy is to define my goals at the new year and put a plan together.  I then honor the Chinese New Year by reviewing each goal and deciding if it needs to be tweaked a bit.  In the past I've been really successful at reaching my goals as I also do a lot of contemplation, journaling and make the most kick ass vision seed maps.  They're literally beautiful and I even lay them out to follow the Bagua map!  My goal is just like my Feng Shui work to set things up right, to set myself up so I will most definitely meet my goal.

This year I feel a little different though.  Several weeks ago I realized this time would be upon us before I knew it and began thinking.  However, it was just a constant struggle and trying to define my goals felt impossible.  Ironically, I mentioned it to a friend she said to "let it go and stop worrying about it".  The next day in my yoga class my teacher talked about the stress of of resolutions and she suggested as an alternative, to focus on how far you've come this year.  Hmmm...Sensing a theme here?  Then another friend told me to just "relax and make things easy".  Yes Universe, I'm hearing you loud and clear!

Instead of setting concrete goals this year I'm taking some time to journal and ponder these changes in my life and the amazing year I've had (more to come in another post).  I really should be proud of myself right now, not worrying so much about what's next.  I may set some general thoughts for this year but I think I'm really going to give the big ole task of resolution setting a break for 2018.

On that note....let's share some positive vibes.  What is something awesome that you accomplished last year?

I became a yoga teacher!

Lots of love to you all,
Lisa xoxo
